Quito and meeting Matt again

Not having traveled alone for more than a month, I was completely lost when I landed in the bus terminal at Quito. It took me about half an hour just to get my bearings right, after which I walked up to the information desk and picked up a map of the city and another basic one of Ecuador itself.

The trole bus ride from the terminal (Quitumbe) to the Centro Historico took about 45 minutes. Surprisingly, there was not a single internet shop open and I was beginning to get worried. However, there was some sort of a street theatre in progress, so I spent some time just watching the show.

Soon after, I got to an internet cafe and saw that Matt had left a message on facebook about the hostel he was staying in – Hostel Guayanga opposite the Secret Garden hostel. I went there, checked myself into the same dorm as Matt, and located him on the roof of the Secret Garden.

Over a few beers, we spent some time catching up on our respective weekends.
